How many M5s are being taken to the track. Many people that buy M5s are enthusiasts that have track toys and weekend cars and use their M5 as their daily driver. The others that buy the car are just trying to impress their neighbors.

She was born in 1971 so she WOULD have went to school from 1989 to 1993 (4 school years, 5 calendar years). The average in-state tuition there at the time was $4000. Adjusted for inflation, that’s about $8000 now. Also, cost of living in Oxford, Ohio is very cheap like most of the midwest.
Isn’t it possible that they just happened to know where to disable the alarm and BMW Connect tracking system? What am I missing? Why would they disable it and come back later? I feel like they just got thwarted and ran away. I doubt they’d be stupid enough to come back.
You just don’t think it’s creepy because Paul Walker was attractive and looked younger than his age. We have terrible intrinsic biases based on what people look like. If he had been obsessed with plastic surgery or been a creepy looking hairy person, I’m going to bet you wouldn’t feel the same way.
Just to be clear, OHV is synonymous with pushrod. It may be something that doesn’t make literal sense, but if you say OHV to anybody that knows anything about cars, it means pushrod. It’s a naming convention, not a definitive descriptor.
Oh geez. The LT motors are considered LS motors. Let’s not get caught up with naming conventions. The LT designation has been used before.
That’s why higher end Camaros come with blacked out bowties and so many SS owners get the Holden badge option.
Oh OK. I see what you’re saying now. To rev over 8k, though, I’m assuming they’d have to go with OHC. Are there any OHV engines that rev much over 7k?
What would be the point of doing that? What does a flat plane crank alone do for the LS? They’d want a new design with less displacement, DOHC, and higher revs. Now that the engine is going out back, having a low slung OHV design isn’t as important. A large displacement OHV engine would rev very slowly and would have…
Flat plane crank V8 seems unlikely. The whole point of the Corvette is to undercut the competition and designing a whole new V8 when they have some really good LS engines doesn’t make sense. A turbocharged V6 seems far more likely. This might help reduce the cost for transitioning to mid-engine.
You mean some gaudy touch to the car that makes it look like a 12 year old designed it? Don’t worry, I’m sure it’ll be there.
Huh? Are you sure about that? C7s are widely regarded as a top end sports car with cheap interiors (although vastly improved from the C6).
1-2mpg for commuting 15k miles per year is virtually nothing. 25 mpg @ 15k miles @ $3/gallon is $1800/year. 24 mpg is only $75 more. 23 mpg is only $156 more (than 25 mpg). As an individual cost, it’s not that much. That’s assuming you commute 15k miles/ year which is on the high end.
So Chevy gave you your truck for free? Adjusted for inflation, I wonder how much that truck cost.
The first gen X3 was such a piece of garbage. The build quality was just terrible compared to the X5 or other BMWs of that era.
One of my cars was an Infiniti G37S 6MT trim car. It is relatively sporty and had pretty good steering. Compared to modern BMWs it had GREAT steering. It was my commuter car. I sat through about 30 minutes of bumper to bumper and 30 minutes of open freeway driving EACH WAY every day for 2 years. It made the drive more…
Automatics these days are great, from the ZF 8HP and Aisin 8 speeds to the PDK and DSGs of the world. However, some people just like a manual better. That’s not right or wrong, that’s just how it is. When you drive a new car with dead steering and an automatic, you are just bored. When you drive a car with great…
Nothing gets people with automatics (Torque converted and DCT alike) more riled up than a discussion about manual transmissions. What is the psychological phenomenon behind this massive chip on their shoulders? What makes them so gung-ho about sharing their opinion that manual-philes are just flat out wrong that they…
The ship was chartered. Assuming they are able to charter other ships for other hauls, it doesn’t seem like there would be lost revenue there.
