They’re both stupid. One doesn’t excuse the other.

Oh c’mon. You’re comparing some puddles on the curb to life-saving/city-saving infrastructure? We can survive a few puddles if it means we’ll have better schools.

In this particular case, you’re wrong. Ofo has a well established footprint elsewhere and didn’t take any government money to establish their Dallas business.

You could combine the two and make a Japanese car.

Right, but like you said, it rains more there than anywhere else in the country. So if you experience a lot of rain, it makes sense to do it.

You know who could afford that? Jeff Bezos. Twice.

Let’s say there are 5 big rainfall days per year in an average city. Is it worth spending billions of dollars to make sure there are zero puddles during these events? Or is it smarter to let some puddles form a few days a year and spend that money elsewhere?

I just don’t understand all the rage though. All the costs were eaten by the bike share company. They didn’t waste any tax dollars. They didn’t get any city grants or loans. They just set up a business, and if they failed, it’s their own fault. Isn’t that what the conservatives and libertarians in Texas preach as best

Yes, I pay taxes so I should be living in a blissful utopia. /s

A penalty for throwing something away? What? In Texas? I don’t think that would go over very well with the Libertarians and Conservatives. Of course, since this is a Chinese company we’re talking about, I’m sure their ideals go right out the window and they will hate on them for any reason.

LOL, cold? High 59 and low of 39 in January? I don’t think so. LMAO!!!

You don’t drive late model German cars, I see.

This is basically gatekeeping. Don’t let Jalopnik go down this road. Keep it accessible and open to everyone with an interest in cars. Even the rich guy who got a sport package on their full size luxury sedan.

High performance engines (high-compression, turbocharged, >300hp) often have closed deck designs. These add internal bracing for the cylinder walls which also compromises the water jacket. On open deck designs, the cylinder is not connected to the top of the engine block at all, just the bottom.

As the owner of an SS, I can attest to the fact that the engine simply does not feel like 415hp. However, according to this video, they dynoed it to the wheels at only about 270hp compared to the bhp rating of 415. I’m going to guess they were in an area favorable to a blown car rather than an NA car.

I’m not saying they literally throw them away. I’m saying that most people don’t drive their cars more than 100k miles.

Also, what big words? Everything I said was written in high school level English. What’s ruining our world and our lives are people that jump to conclusions and can’t be swayed by evidence or argument. It makes them dig in more.

The hubris of insignificant people knows no bounds.

While Democrats might not actually do much about it, I don’t see why they’d say anything about the “incivility of walking out on their job.” Where did you get that?

How do you think I got to this story?
