Is there any definitive proof that Admiral Ackbar is (or is not) named after Akbar the Great, the Emperor of India’s Mughal Dynasty during the 1500s? They’re both considered great military leaders, so I would assume Ackbar is a reference to Akbar, but I haven’t been able to find anything to back me up.

I liked how the ghosts were color-coded: black if love kept them around, red if pain kept them around, and white if they actually felt okay about it all and were about to leave..

Hey, I was literally listening to this album for the first time when I spotted this article just now! Here’s all the LP artwork, if anyone wants to check it out. My favorite is the foggy flying saucer one.

I’ve been running this joke tumblr, Embellished History, in which I improve historical images. Here’s my favorite one.

Doesn’t he only eat one bite of the Mexican food? I remember watching and thinking it looked like he was just eating it to fit in.

Heh, I like how the official Disney trailer Youtube account still spelled the title of the film wrong.

I'm pretty sure it was meant as an honor, but I'm glad to see that zoological nomenclature has still has its share of insults.

Here's Bront, to complete the four examples of Paul Alexander box art!

Seriously, though, the Fast and Furious franchise needs to start doing crossovers. It already has an audience that values action and cool stuff over plot and realism, so it would be perfect. My pick:

Awesome! Looks like it'll fill the void of campy Bond films in the post-Brosnan era.

Hey, I wrote one of the stories for the first volume of the new Jill Trent! It's an anthology in which each story is a different re-imagining of Jill Trent. Here's the first panel in my story:

Wellll there it is. The kind of foreshadowing that would be considered heavy-handed in fiction.

They only sense inactivity. Don't rest.

Thanks!

Nice! I like how the chess board sets up the final twist — it has two sides with identical pieces, too. And I always love retro sci-fi. I hope it gets a feature length version.
