I’m a woman, and a feminist, and I find this gimmicky and off-putting, too. Not for puritanical reasons, women should breastfeed if that’s what they want, but I feel like this whole commercial - not just the breastfeeding - is pandering to mommies in a way that’s really exclusionary. I’m just...not impressed with a

“Buswankers” is such a satisfying insult.

Yeah, I think the droopy bits on her arms (not sure what to call them, they don’t seem quite sleeves...) were causing her to look like that - it’s an optical illusion. She also looked super-cold!

Margot Robbie bears an unsettling physical resemblance to the Oscar statuette in that photo.

I love the color and overall shape of Viola Davis’s gown, but the top is a bit too much like the top of a one-piece swimsuit. It needs different straps, or to lose the underwire-like detail, or something.

Daniel Kaluuya’s jacket is a little too Four Tops for my taste, but Jordan Peele looks like Hollywood royalty and he knows it.

Fucking hell-en Mirren, she is FLAWLESS. I like to imagine she doesn’t even have any shapewear on under that dress, that’s just how perfect she is naturally.

Last year Gwendoline Christie wore an alabaster dress that exactly matched her skin and she pulled it off like a mf Greek statue because she is 6'2" and therefore basically a living statue, and this year all these other women think they can do it too, but no. Elisabeth Moss and Fleabag are beautiful women, but they

The neckline of her gown is just tremendous.

Y’all, these paintings are SO BAD. The painting of Michelle doesn’t even look like her. I get the desire to break the mold of traditional formal portraiture, but this was not the occasion for that. This country has such an issue with the othering of Black people, and the othering of Obama in particular; these

I love your username! Love Rhoda...

Wtf happened to Victoria Beckham?

This is so interesting - it sounds like Tokyo has changed quite a bit since I was there in 2000. There were very few bilingual signs (had to memorize the kanji for the subway stop I needed before getting on the train), and it seemed like very few people over 30 spoke any English. It was an adventure but so much fun.

Something that’s a more frequent necessity for women, but good for men too - a small packet of tissues, because public restrooms don’t always have toilet paper. There’s a reason there are a million people handing them out (with ads printed on the packets) on street corners.

Canadian here: “Kraft dinner” refers to the boxed macaroni and cheese.

My biggest logistical question about this woman’s actions is: what happens when she’s taken someone else’s seat on the plane? Why isn’t it then immediately discovered that she doesn’t have a ticket? It can’t possibly be the case that she manages to sit in an unassigned seat every time.

Is this guy advertising a lot on cable news networks? My mother-in-law is always asking us when we’re going to “sign The Petition.” (As if there is only one petition about Trump.) I think she’s seeing it advertised on CNN and MSNBC and assuming that it’s pretty much a done deal, it just needs to get enough signatures

I hate the Globe’s twitter account because they flog the same stories over and over again. But I love Boston and this story reminded me of why I continue to live here after 20 years even when it is 10 degrees out for a whole week, so thank you.

Phoebe was created as Ursula’s twin! Mad About You started before Friends did, and they had to come up with an explanation for Lisa Kudrow being on another NBC show on the same night.

The fuck is up with all the women posing with wide eyes and open mouths.
