I understand the principle behind reparations (honestly, “restitution” would be a better word, but the time for that argument has come and gone), but there are still the huge questions of whose tax dollars pay for it, and who gets how much money. My family (on both sides) arrived in this country from eastern Europe

Jesus Christ that’s some whole sale racist garbage

Defense has no obligation to provide proof; that’s the job of the prosecution.

It may certainly be proven false. However, the original story itself is literally the same thing. “Police say that...” is the way these stories read. We tend to assume they’re true, and they’re definitely not always true. The “police say...” version of the Uvalde shooting is a good example. Major’s attorney

Thanks for presenting the evidence of videos and witness statements as laid out for Majors and Jabbari activities. None of it - espec the eye witness of the handyman and the apartment security videos do anything but support Majors side of the story.

It does create a pattern, but false accusations and bandwagoning are a (highly unlikely) thing. Each of those other accusations needs to be addressed individually, and with the same level of scrutiny. However, “verbally abusive” can also mean “just an asshole”, and =/= physically abusive.

All it took was an accusation, with precious little “evidence” at the time, to damn his career and plaster his name in headlines all over the world as an abuser. But sure, defending him, and reporting on the defense in any detail, is somehow “one-sided PR”.

Well, if that description of the police trying to lead the alleged victim in her allegations is true, it reminds me of a Katt Williams bit, in which he describes police questioning a woman, who describes hitting her guy and knocking him out and their response was “yes, but as he collapsed unconscious, did one of his

Notice they never want to talk about how these “antisemitic” movies and books are on sale on Amazon. Why is Kyrie bad for promoting but not Bezos for selling?

“It’s disheartening but not lost on me that Irving’s most emphatic sycophants, at least in my world, are other Black men.”

Disclaimer: This isn’t directed toward the Jewish community as a whole but if you’re silent.......

The problem is that the Dahomey were not the only nation doing it. ALL of the well-known nations participated in the trade. And before the trans-Atlantic trade, there was the Arab/Muslim trade.  So they would need to avoid making ANY films that explore pre-colonial African societies. The one benefit that I see from

Hollywood has castrated Black film. Hollywood got shook from Passenger 57 and Bad Boys. By green lighting Westerns, civil rights movies and slave films we’re kept in the past.

“edu-tainment”? About the slave trade during which so many of our ancestors perished? How twisted is that shit? How could anything about the slave trade be molded into some king of “edu-tainment” project? and who is supposed to be entertained?Smdfh

I wonder whether or not this would be more meaningful if more black people in the US had meaningful cultural heritage from the places they actually came from in Africa. I think if we did, this discussion would be a whole lot less civil and quite honestly this movie would never have been made in the first place given

“big, burly black men”? Ha, interesting language.

Stupid article. She perjured herself over and over, and that's why she lost. Ain't enough whiteness in the world to overcome that much lying.

Black women don’t need the Amber Heard verdict to know what time it is” - thank you!!!!

Candace, how did we arrive here?

If the mistreatment of a wealthy blonde haired, blue-eyed white actress is ridiculed by the world, what does that mean for Black women?
