We considered ourselves very lucky if we got four years out of a Subaru battery.

Every engine fails at that point if you don't maintain it.
The dealer talked me into getting the front end of my WRX wrapped which did help.
Maybe, but I bought my wife a new Legacy GT in 2006. She drove it for eight years and then gave it to our son who still drives it to this day. And I am amazed at how well it still drives and rides.
So I bought my base model 15 WRX for less than $26,000. As in economy car prices at that time. And it truly is an economy car with very good performance and all-wheel drive. So it should not be shocking to anyone that it might rattle from time to time or feature a lot of black plastic.
I have difficulty believing the devil doesn't drive his cars hard..
My 15 WRX was very reliable as well. I guess you can find a lemon in any car model, but when I hear a WRX shit the bed, I suspect the driver more than the car.
Our 04 Outback, 06 Legacy, and 07 Impreza all had head gasket issues. My 09 TriBeCa was a bit of a gas guzzler, but was trouble free(the H-6 seemed to be much more reliable. My wife’s 14 Forester and her new Crosstrek have also been very reliable, as well as my BRZ and WRX.
I don’t know what model year your friends cars were, but all of the 5 Subaru’s I have purchased since 2009 have been extremely reliable.
So we have now owned eight Subaru’s, and the only one I truly loved (and still do) is the BRZ. The rest of them were very good beige vehicles that make a lot of sense, but I would say the emotion I feel is more like respect than love.
Eyesight, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist and Blind Spot Detection are the options I made sure were on my wives 18 Crosstrek.
Where I live (in the epicenter of the Polar Vortex) AWD is kind of necessary for a third to half a year. My secret weapon for navigating the ice shelf existing at every drive-through right now is X-Mode.
You don't know a goddamn thing about my life, so piss off.
Or, ignore the rich, and anyone or anything that you resent and try to live a good life while becoming a good human being. Because I guarantee that the last thing they think of before the ground eats them definitely is not “I wish I had made more money”.
So what’s your point? Too many self indulgent wieners in the world with too much money or too many of the same whose tastes in cars don’t align with your own?
This boxy wedge begs to differ:
True, I would say less weight and girth would be more important, but nobody seems to care.
Sorry, I thought you were like most Jalops that talk but never put hard money down on a new car. Props to you.
You don’t have to look very far in past reviews of to know people said plenty worse than that, including that it understeered more than just about anything they could remember. I drove one several times, including a 200 mile trip in a snowstorm. Let’s just say I preferred my 1982 Civic in just about every possible…
To be sure, the rev hang and hesitation trying to get on the turbo in my WRX was a little annoying. We can only hope the new fa24 turbo engine is an improvement.
