It has nothing to do with standing behind Subaru. Although I own them, this new model is of very little interest to me personally. But for many this will be the Subaru that makes them take the leap towards ownership of one. And it will be hugely successful, in the USA, anyways.

What we do know is the next engine for the STI will be the 2.4 L turbo four that will be in the Ascent, with more horsepower. How much and whether it will be available in the WRX, we will have wait and see.

My sons ex killed a 2004 Outback the same way. It had over 200k on it though, so it hung in there even under a complete lack of care the last couple years.

The utility and practicality of any minivan for a family with three kids, a dog and an active lifestyle is far better than any sport utility vehicle.
