For companies that use trailers as mobile storage, it doesn’t make sense. But for companies like walmart where most of the trailers are moved multiple times daily, it makes sense. It takes about 3 hrs for unload and load, and in that time, the batteries can fully recharge, allowing the driver (the most expensive part)… Read more
No need for logging, it can be done the same way it’s done for current charging stations. Swipe a card and the charging stations does the billing.
For most cargo, they cube out before hitting max weight and most are from port (ship or train) to distribution depot. Thus the distances aren’t that long and if the primary batteries are on the trailer, they can be recharged while unload/loading operations.
For long haul operations, I’ll agree that it doesn’t make as… Read more
The country doesn’t want Ford to pardon Nixon again. If Biden does, I suspect the liberal side will make him pay in 2022.
Yep, we need hot swap battery setups for that.
The Model 3 crushed everything in it’s class at last years Autocross Nationals, so they bumped it up to the fastest stock class. So, it is competing with 6 figure cars in the twisties as well.
The electrons do their magic and keep putting down power when other cars can’t. Having all of the battery weight so low also… Read more
If they are properly designed pedals, then the bearings can be repacked or replaced. And even then a bearing failure shouldn’t cause an injury, since the pedal should be notchy and leaning to 1 side, but it shouldn’t come off or cause loss of balance.
While I can see having the plastic toe clips be replaced at intervals… Read more
It might be wacko to drive with a big wings on the street. I bet there is a trailer hitch option, so you can tow a small tire trailer with the big wings and other necessities to the track.
5th gear: Realy, they are complaining about exhausts. In down town areas of big cities you can barely hear them over the noisy buses. If there is one class of vehicles that should be hybrids or EVs it’s transit buses. They are almost perfectly designed for it. They have long areas between the frame rails for… Read more
Neutral: The way to reduce regulations is to order the alphabet soup agencies to work with the EU counter parts and OEMs to reduce the variation in requirements. Example: Allow for EU RHD headlights in the USA. But only have it apply to cars that are assembled in the USA. This would encourage OEMs that only want to… Read more
It depends on what the tool is and how frequent I plan on using it.
Usually, I would get middle grade of tool and expect them to last a long time for a home mechanic, but the middle grade has disappeared or doesn’t last as long. So, I might as well go extra cheap to Harbor Freight.
Carnival ships are not “luxury” ships by any means. They are a floating Motel 6.
I prefer full sized vans, the old Econoline had 1/2 the rear hangover as the F-150. The short lever (ball to axle) gave the trailer less influence from bounce and sway. Plus the coolers and gear are inside the cabin.
Which is hilarious because it is advertising how much sex your having. aka, I’m getting so much I have to drive a mini school bus.
ugh if people could only get over the fear of towing a cargo trailer. With my minivan I can tow just as much as modern 1/2 tons can fit in the bed and the bed is only knee level, compared to the chest level of modern trucks. So, it’s easier to manually load and the bed tips, so I can drive a tractor up into it without… Read more
