I will reply to myself and say that the charging option I purchased does not produce high amperage, but I can also upgrade when a higher-powered version comes out.
Counterpoint: I bought one of these from Amazon (currently $12, the USB outlets linked above are $20), and I can take it with me when I travel. I’ll take the portability, an extra outlet, and my $8 over having my USB ports flush with the wall.

My main issue with using the mobile web version was with Chrome on my older phone - I was on a RAZR M, and Chrome was just as slow as the Facebook app on that phone. However, I'll admit I didn't do a huge search for other browsers since I also live in Chrome on the desktop - maybe there was something better out there…

Any thoughts for Android? I used Wikipanion way back when I had an iPad, but many of the Android alternatives have ads and so I just use the regular Wikipedia app.
