When did you last watch Deadwood? While I enjoy Dreadful, the writing doesn't come close to the level of Deadwood. Nor are the characters as memorable and real. Deadwood (and The Wire) are as close to Shakespeare as American television has ever been. Dreadful is fine pulp, beautiful and fun, but just go watch Deadwood
