I noticed this at my local Target when I was thinking about getting the kindle fire I went to see it at Target, after I bought my KF I went back to the same Target a week later to buy a case and noticed they had removed all the Kindle products except the accessories.

After rooting you can always reinstall the stock ROM that's available online or you could easily create your own backup. Also my advice is to install CM7 because its really stable been using it for about 2 months now and only froze once or twice. I'm gonna buying a second KF just to experiment with other roms
