I have recently re-discovered the BBC 6Music radio station. It's opened my ears to some new stuff, and reminded me of some old stuff.

I love "And The Anonymous Nobody"; am very surprised that A Tribe Called Quest's "We Got it From Here" isn't on there.

Complete with the obvious "Unmithable"!

I was a lock until about 16 (I stopped growing pretty much at 15), then openside flanker. I was usually where I shouldn't be.
To be fair, I never butted anyone. Punching, however…

Now there are two famous boxers named Chris Eubank (the original and Jr), "Youth Hostelling with Chris Eubank" needs to be a thing.

I used to play rugby (from age 11 to 22), so I was punched in the face most weekends. I also have stud-raking scars on my back and my hands, suggesting I was often offside at the breakdown.

It is a great song, so there's no need to have a memory attached to it.
Just enjoy it!

I did miss it here - but I did see the Graham Norton Show.

Tom Hanks was a good sport re that photo:

Pfft, I was already one year into post-grad professional studies.

"Edge" and "Shakespeare" both by Akala (both from his album "It's Not a Rumour").
The latter was probably the best-received track from the album, whilst the former has become my fantasy entrance song.

Mrs periscopes loves to tease me. I love "Gimme Shelter", but always somehow manage to forget its title. It is a truly great song.

Justin Hayward's voice was peerless on "Nights…"
Every time I hear that song, I have to stop and listen to it.

The Cirque de Soleil routine to that is one of the highlights of my trip to Vegas (after the Grand Canyon).

The great thing about that song is how it just makes me want to bust some moves. And I am a great big bloke who is totally unable to dance.

It was the gratuitous slow-mo, circling tracking shot around her arse* that felt like it was a long time, because it was a 30-second shot.

A great song.

That Cocker cover was just amazing.

My in-laws used to hate REM on principle (because my wife loved them). Then, about five years ago, they borrowed all the CDs. Took them a while, but they're converted.
