Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds" is probably my favourite pop record, and always elevates the soul.

Sim was excellent as Scrooge.

1976 FA Cup Final
2003 Rugby World Cup Final (not just the result - the drama, too)

Music - the early 90s was excellent. I have a trusty old compilation album (called Deep Heat 1990) that always does the job. See also anything by The Prodigy.

EVERYBODY DANCE NOW!

My feel-good movie is "The Muppet Christmas Carol" - in fact my friend and I have agreed to watch it (he's never seen it) in a couple of weekends time. I don't care that it's seasonally inappropriate.

And that's what they were - character deaths. These characters had an arc, and back-story. So many shows would keep central characters alive and kill off fringe people. But death is integral to gladiators and to the story, and I was so glad the show didn't shy away from that.

Hello, Spartacus.

^ What I came here to say

Dam Holland!

That joke's so old fashioned, I have to go to the store to buy more Angostura bitters.

I don't mind it when Mrs periscopes asks me to talk dirty per se. But I do mind her stopping what she's doing to take notes.

I find aloe vera gel helps sunburn*. It also moisturises the skin, so reduces the subsequent flaking.

My life plan when I was 18 (I am the white Carlton Banks) included not settling down until I was 30.

All kids are idiots. I say this as a man, and therefore as a large kid.

When have you ever seen a penis that's good at soccer (except Luis Suarez)?

Almost unrelated was an episode of "Never Mind the Buzzcocks" where they pointed out that blanked-out parts in songs could often make them sound ruder. My favourite was Katy Perry "… you're going to ____ me [raw]"

The A.V. Club

It baffles me too, and I did it…
It really is too young to settle down. Practically all of my friends who are happy in long-term relationships were at least 30 before embarking on them (and many had been married beforehand).
