I must admit that I've been guilty of keeping someone on the hook as second-choice just in case the first choice didn't work out. But, I made sure that a telephone call was made to the first choice person with the end question "so do you think you'll take the offer?". That way we could let the others down swiftly.

My favourite was the dancing bag from "American Beautoy", but really any of those films is amazing.

"Piff the Magic Dragon" was a highlight for me.

[Andy Capp bends back at the waist to avoid the oncoming frying pan; somersaults backwards over the kitchen table; lands on the floor; kicks table along floor, taking out wife's legs; snatches pan as it flies through the air, and beats wife with it]

I too hated dating, and was always clueless as to when girls were coming on to me. Looking back, it's astounding that I ever ended up spending time with anyone. I appreciate how fortunate I am to have a loving and supportive person, with whom I want to spend my life. I also appreciate how rare it is to find that at a

The farmer's in his den…

Me too - I hope it's like "American Beautoy", "Toytanic" or "Toytrainspotting". Epics all.

To be fair, it was the third option of varying things. He just sort of slipped it in at the back.

You will get over her - the searing agony you feel at first fades gently. I remember my first "love" at 17, and how bad I felt afterwards. I was a teensy bit obsessed - this may have had something to do with us breaking up. It's embarrassing to me now that I'm (much) older and have had many more relationships, both

Sometimes a dudel is just a cigar. Usually, though, it's a penis.

"[T]een girl favorite Salman Rushdie" - swoons.

I love that game, but I wouldn't play it with any children of mine (not that I have any).

Yoiu sure ain't, li'l britches.

And ducks have sarcastic laughs.

House of Fun is great on this, but "Jackie Wilson Said" had the best backdrop on Top of the Pops - a picture of darts legend Jocky Wilson (RIP):

One of my favourite comedy characters was Bernard Righton, who looked and sounded like the awful '70s comedians (Bernard Manning in particular) but whose jokes were entirely different:
