I read the book myself after seeing the film. A great story.

"The Bridge" is great - I only saw it a few years ago, when I managed to get an English-subtitled version on DVD.

It was my first DVD - my wife bought the player and the disc as a birthday present. It holds a special place in my heart for that purpose.

So I take it the suicide was by drowning, if the bath was deep?

This is why they didn't really need speed-lines: everyone was running in slo-mo.

Barely

James Bond will return in "Omnishambles"

that sounds like an exceedingly good title.

Forrest Gump in English? I would love to know the rationale for that decision.

I loved the Branagh filmed version of Henry V when I was younger, but we weren't allowed to study fun history.
The Azincourt novel by Bernard Cornwell is good, too.

As an Englishman, it is refreshing for me to hear that I am instantly one of History's Greatest Monsters.
This is why the curriculum is so important. We spent the whole time learning early-twentieth-century stuff, because the teachers obviously wanted to blind us to our inhumanity.

We had a school-wide trip to the local cinema once a year, because we had Founder's Day on a Saturday, and were expected to attend.
The films we saw included:
Police Academy 4
Back to the Future part III
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

"slamon ladder" does sound like something from Urban Dictionary.

Does he drive the main road?

Me too - but I just wanted to make the easy joke.

So not a liar, more an exaggerator?

Exactly - who uses Bing???

A kilt would probably be considered a bit "lightweight" in my circle for a RHPS show/screening. Last time I went, it was clinical gowns, rubber gloves and basques. The high heels hurt after a few hours - I suddenly felt a lot of sympathy for ladies who hate to wear them.

You're right - he and I both are former rugby players (not so successful in my case though), so have good musculature. That's part of the reason he likes to wear his kilt on a night out.
