Exactly... I am vegan for the exact reasons I am feminist.

Vegetarians and vegans may get made fun of but are not oppressed, but many of us stand up for those who are voiceless: the animals that have no choice in the matter. We are standing up for those who are marginalized.

What would you call the animals that have no choice over their horrific living conditions, live their lives in misery, only to ultimately be slaughtered. Just because they are a different species doesn't mean they can't be marginalized.

There is actually a huge connection between the two. Notice how eating meat is very much perceived to be a part of masculinity.

It's really sad that people think this is a joke. I've heard so many people complain about vegetarians/vegans making their views heard in a way that others find smug or overbearing, but truthfully, we deal with flesh-eating in a way that can be completely overwhelming without a proper guard up.

I completely agree.

How very judgemental.

Looks like she needs to put her knees down until she builds a bit more core strength.

I'm vegan and totally agree with this whole thread. Plus, every outraged person I've seen on Facebook about this regularly eat meat that was not hunted, free-range, humanely raised, etc. Misplaced moral outrage is misplaced.

Yeah, those two ladies are more "reality show" material.

No prob. Happy yoga-ing!

Ok, you might not want to soak it, especially if it's thick/cushiony or your down dogs will result in puddles. I'd use a topical spray (manduka makes a nice lavender one made with natural ingredients), wiped down with a clean, dry towel, and air-dried to get rid of the odor.

Graduating to a fancy mat... So worth it!

What type of mat is it?

I have a jade and use the manduka mat spray + a dry towel to wipe it down every 2 uses or so. I'm a teacher, so I use the may 2+ times a day and this method has worked quite well.

The Krishna chick that looks like Juliette Lewis.

11.5 years since the start of my recovery. I still struggle, but the fact that I want to live and want to be alive helps me from really going over the edge. Under tremendous stress I still starve and sometimes i'll purge, but I try to make sure I'm surrounded by good people and always get back to an equilibrium

Fun fact: I met my husband on POF. I added him as a "favorite" and he messaged me back. I didn't initially just message him because I thought he was a bit too old and that I wouldn't be his type... I appear artsy while he appeared hunky and athletic. I wasn't taking the experience very seriously and to me, my

I realize the Ozarks is quite a vast area with a variety of socioeconomic representation, but when I think Ozarks, all I think about is boating and floating in the water with a pool noodle and a beer in my hand. My family has a place down there and that is where we spend most of the summer.

I'm guessing the author has never vacationed in the Ozarks.
