I like Acaster just as much as you probably do, but was Rife saying his comedy is too challenging for the people who are upset? It didn’t seem like it to me. I’m honestly asking, not trying to be an asshole here.

I’ve developed a shaky theory about GenZ humor. It aims to be ‘absurdist’ but not in any meaningful kind of way. They just slap completely unrelated sh*t together and that makes them laugh.
But then, that’s the world right now so....

I’m sorry to say this, but most of the SNL episodes from the last few seasons are just NOT funny/edgy/innovative/crazy/etc. It’s all just Gen-Z “Irony” drivel .

Matt really annoyed me to the point I considered giving up on the show. He was way too desperate to be funny, and so wasn’t at all. I like Alison a lot.

Yeah I just don’t get the appeal of these guys. I’ve seen most (if not all) of their SNL segments and I recently listened to their appearance on Conan’s podcast, and they seem like nice enough dudes I guess but they’re neither interesting nor particularly funny.
