Still waiting on a Return to Monkey Island review, but I guess yet another update on what a Twitch streamer pulled out of their nose this morning will have to do.

Want some of this fudge, Packer?

Lucas and Fielding sort of have the same comedic energy, one that doesn’t tend to build on one another the same way Mel and Sue (MEL AND SUE!!!) did, or even Noel and Sandi. They need somebody with a bit more warmth on the show.

quoting your own tweet in your own article... classy.

He died doing what he loved. Gnawing.

This was the first SP episode I ever saw. Hankey flying around giving everyone kisses as the end and leaving little smudges of shit on their cheeks had me hooked for life.

I am usually a let people like what they like kind of person, and yet I find myself actually weirdly hoping this movie sucks as much as the trailer implies. Not sure why I'm having this childish reaction, but I don't think I'm the only one?

why am I hoping this movie fails? The 3 hour and 10 minute length? The unobtainium? Cameron’s pomposity?

It sounds like made-up future slang from 90s sci-fi btw

Sorry, but I don’t think any space-themed 50s set film with a desert town setting can compete with “The Vast of Night”.

God bless Jason Schwartzmann for continuing to pull down roles but I confess I’ve never seen the appeal, especially in the “what a sexy motherfucker this guy is” mode a la Darjeeling or Funny People.

What’s weird about these reviews is critics pretending they didn’t also give raves for the first Avatar, simply because the movie hasn’t aged well. If you look at the reviews from the time on Rotten Tomatoes (meaning no retrospective reviews post 2009) it’s almost unanimous praise. AO Scott said he hadn’t felt this

I could just stay home and look in a mirror for two hours for that. Save some bucks.

Really? “Sad fat guy” doesn’t sound like a fun night at the movies?

Nope was an actually good movie that was also a “MOVIE MOVIE”

The last time I saw a movie-movie? Ages since a great theatrical experience? How about Maverick, just a few months ago??

tbh I’d rather see Collin Farrell win than Brendan Fraser. Both would be fine but it feels like a long time coming now for Farrell.

Holy shit, haha. Season 12 is where I would argue it starts to go seriously downhill.

I was 17 when that aired. So maybe you could argue that my love for the classic seasons is nostalgia. But if that were the case, I imagine I’d be more lenient into later seasons. The writing seriously drops off around season nine,
