Well judging by amazon reviews a couple hundred so far, and since they already said .04% would be defective, we can expect a couple thousand to be faulty, unfortunatley for Sony this is the age of Twitter and reddit, so a couple thousand faulty consoles can be very negative PR very quickly.

Next Gen doesn't start until Super Mario 3D World says so.
