As with every technology, the internet has a serious drawback. It allows people to get together and form communities, and it also amplifies the reach a person has. While this can be used for good, QAnon is the prime example of when this used for complete batshittery.

You want to tell people about all the things YOU know because that reinforces how better you think you are than everyone else. You put on your sandwich board covered with outlandish ideas and slogans and go outside to the busiest street…

Well, you start with people who fervently believe their magical sky-friend will help their team win football games, pour righteous indignation down their throats for 25yrs along side telling them that, despite their obvious shortcomings of all kinds, they are the chosen ones. 

It’s easy to laugh at these lunatics, but never forget that Jan. 6 proved what can happen if someone with enough influence over them decides to weaponize their delusions.
