Yeah, it’s basically an investment diversification strategy. The rich idiots pay the bills, and the smart middle- and lower-class students get the accolades and burnish the school’s rep. And it’s not really unique to Harvard, either.

With what we keep learning about Harvard (despite knowing about what they’re truly interested in, anecdotally, for decades) - I would say that Kushner got into Harvard on exactly the merits Harvard is interested in.

The check cleared.  That’s the only merit that mattered.

Merit for getting into an ivy league is money and/or power. It was no mistake he got in.
