I don't want to talk about someone's mother. I mainly just wanted to stick up for Napolean Dynamite. I actually am impressed by his family's choices. My parents never have and never would watch any of that stuff. Sorry, Matt. But you are still wrong about Napolean Dynamite.

Or "Did you know the Houses of Parliament have nine separate bars in them?"  - "Man they need to drink that much to put up with Martin Amis and the Gallagher brothers."

Oasis. First album "Hey, this is pretty damn fun!", second album "Some of this still rocks out pretty well", thereafter "I want my money back!" on down to the point now where I actively hate them and even use them as an all-purpose excuse for holding the U.K. in contempt when such an excuse is needed. (you know, like

Matt, I hate to be insulting, and I always know I'll catch hell when I reveal myself as one of the people who thinks Napolean Dynamite is the funniest movie ever made, but it sounds like you are from a long line of people with bad taste.

After geeking out on The Avengers movie I checked out one of the Thor omnibus volumes from the library. This was full of Stan Lee/Jack Kirby stuff from the early '60s. I had never been much of a Marvel fan, so I only knew this stuff by reputation and I was really looking forward to it. Yuk. Lee's dialogue was horrible

Nice Paul Harvey reference.

Hank Williams died in the early 1950s. How do his songs support a 1965 date any more than they would any other setting?

Cool. The concept of "hockey" is very foreign to me.

Like what, the Breakfast Club? Not being a public embarrassment to the family like Charlie Sheen?

Everyone knows Sweden, Norway and Finland are full of nice guys who couldn't be the enemy. And in the 90s Russia sort of didn't exist or something or we all felt sorry for it losing the cold war. And besides, it would make us nervous to go back Russian enemies too soon. And Canada is our little brother. You shouldn't
