I’ve seen and heard of genuine situations of people getting professional benefit for themselves out of golfing, but never what I’d actually call work. It’s more like, if you want to get a contact for your resume/network, golf with the deparment director or some shit like that.

Except, running a candidate and “dumping a bunch of money into Senate races” are two different things. I’d agree that dumping DNC money into Utah isn’t the best idea, but that doesn’t mean a DNC candidate shouldn’t run.

UT has voted blue in the past for House, Senate and even Governor (Huntsman counts as half). It’s a longshot to replace Hatch with a Dem, but not impossible.
