That's not the whole story though. Companies know that if they do things that people don't like, they won't get the business of some people. It's a reciprocal relationship. I can say, if the NFL doesn't get rid of Rice, I'm not giving them any more of my money.

He was suspended under the personal conduct clause which is at Goodell's sole discretion. They may appeal it, but they will lose.
