Prince, “She’s Always In My Hair”

This is a high quality reference. I need us to return to DAWES being the first comment under every story.

Unless they are at death’s door, never believe a musician when they say they’re retiring, that this is their last tour. It never sicks.

Their version of “Rosanna” is better than their version of “Africa.” Full stop.

I see what you did there.  You might not have mean to, but kudos anyway.

I’m not saying it’s not possible, but thing rang false:

Now playing

“singing sad songs and waltzes to an audience filled with rockers”

Just dropped down to the comments to say the same thing -- this is a baffling omission. Since there are a few pairs on this list, I’d go as far to say Dr. Will & Mike Boogie together.

Just going by the headline:

Montgomery Burns, The Simpsons

Just came in here to say the same thing— the audio restoration is the bigger story here than any improvements to the video. If anything, parts of it are actually grainer than I remember it being— especially the first few songs before the lights go out. Once the fuller band starts assembling on a darker stage, that’s

I’m glad you mentioned “Corporate” - for fans of that show (ArrestedDevelopmen_Dozens Dot Gif), it should be noted that a brief appearance by Matt Ingebretson and Jake Weisman in S1 establishes “This Fool” as taking place in the “Corporate” universe.

Also worth noting for this ep: This closing song “Judy” is is an original— so much insanity in this ep, the subdued insanity of the song was easy to gloss over:

This is an impossible task, I realize, but...

When MTV grabbed up SonicNet/Addicted to Noise in 1999, it took on their daily news archives and monthly long-form stories dating back to 1994. There is some pretty crucial, primary sourced, originally reported music history there. mtvnews dot com from then though, like, the mid 00's, mostly kept that spirit alive

Currently, in the real world, @Tyler on Twitter is Tyler Winklevoss. Who knows what will happen in 8 years, though.  Made me chuckle.

“...is coming apart at the seams under the pressures of running a right-wing news network that might literally be destroying the country”

I realize I’m not So Much In Touch With The Kids These Days, but I do find it striking that such a major band as R.E.M. has mostly, kinda, essentially disappeared from the wider cultural consciousness-- sure, their big hits show-up here and there in movies/tv but I’ve yet to randomly stumble upon social media vids set

I think S1 of this show was very much like “It’s okay not to have strong boundaries” and S2 will pivot to “Okay, perhaps *some* strong boundaries are necessary”

C+?!?!?! What?
