I’m guessing that more school nurses are just one thing the Flint school system needs, when Detroit schools look like this- http://usuncut.com/class-war/detr… Rats, mold, water damage, etc. The schools are in such disrepair that teachers have been holding sick outs.

This woman must come home each night and sob helplessly. She composes herself, lays out her clothes then does it again the next morning.

and refunded water bills

I'd say he deserves to drink the water for a year, like these poor people did. He knew, they ALL KNEW. I'm having rage strokes.

I’m not even an American!

Nah - you’re right. She’s a hero.

I haven’t lived in MI (my homestate) for nearly 9 years, and I completely feel this way too. Argh!!!

But, she does actually seem to care and understand the scope of what this is going to do to an entire generation of people. School nurses are an under appreciated resource for public health.

plus, he wouldn’t lose any votes that way

Boo. I’m in the Bay Area where everything is expensive but I guess for the cleaning they didn’t put him all the way under? It was about 300. Who knows, I’m not looking forward to the estimate.

Last time I took my cat for a checkup, they were giving away toothbrushes for cats. They were designed to fit on a fingertip and one would presumably have to stick one’s finger in the cat’s mouth to do the brushing. When a tech asked me if I would like to take one, I asked her if she brushed her cat’s teeth with it.

Egads, I just had my dog’s teeth cleaned last week and it was $300 and I was all like DAMN! Now apparently he needs 5 teeth pulled and a canine tooth sealed, not looking forward to what that’s gonna cost, the words “payment plan” were used.

I just had my dog’s teeth cleaned, and the vet told us he needs like 5 removed :/ He hasn’t gotten back to us with the estimate yet.

Ha, yeah, it’s not cheap. My guys were all too old to take to having their teeth brushed by the time I got them, and none of them has naturally great teeth. About every year and a half, all three need a professional dental cleaning, and usually a few teeth removed while they’re at it.

Thank you! Very helpful! I’m guessing my cats will be grateful for your advice/wish for your painful death in equal measure! ;)

If your pet (dog or cat) will allow it, yes, you should brush their teeth. Daily is best, but at least every 2-3 days to be effective. Focus on the outer sides, brush in a circular motion or from the gum out. The brushing action is most important, but a veterinary toothpaste helps mostly for the taste, also many have

Don’t worry, if you have your vet do it for you, it will only set you back about $1500.

Wait - are we supposed to be brushing our cats’ teeth???? That tweet made me laugh but then the cat owner guilt came in like a horrible wave.
