Because the local government put up all the signage needed to avoid liability. So they have no reason to pay for such a project.

I don’t.

Agreed. I live in Eastern Maryland and we get icy conditions maybe 5-10 days a year tops (sporadic, not in a row). On half of those, work and schools shut down anyway. On the handful of days I’ve been forced to drive in snow for one reason or another, I just take it slow and stay within my car’s limits. (Had some fun

No. Chances are, if I can’t find my keys it’s because I’m already late and flustered. I need this excuse!

Yeah, she was running for congress, so it’s safe to assume her wardrobe would have more than t-shirts and sweatpants.

Well, at least the website hadn’t crashed when you tried...

I could see someone instinctively kicking their legs out for balance, and getting an instant amputation. There are little flaps to protect the legs, but they don’t go out that far.

But when leaving you have to accelerate up to a higher speed on an uneven surface with low traction, and merge into traffic. Somehow this sounds worse for everyone than stopping on a paved shoulder. Not to mention there’s the risk of getting stuck if the median is too rough.

Depends on the time of day. I drive the 495 loop fairly often before 6am, and the left lane is always moving well. Usually 75+ in a 55. I guess that’s when all the serious commuters are out who just want to get to work.

Not really, but it’s easy money. As we’ve seen in the past, a little bit of negative PR can really have an impact on airlines.

Hopefully it’s just bad acoustics in the video. It was filmed in a closed room with the camera just a few feet from the exhaust. I think the mic was just overloaded and unable to capture some of the delicious overtones.

and barely going 3 mph

Yeah, the reality is that a guard posted at a church would be mall-cop level, and complacent as hell. If we’re talking about putting guards at every single public gathering in the country, not all of them are going to be GI Joe super soldiers. The shooter would just target them first, probably with a surprise shot

Judging by this report in the video, clearly a 100cfm increase in airflow results in a 100hp increase. Clearly.

Compared to most other old shipwrecks, this is very intact. Even those from the 1700s are usually mostly dissolved down to the keel and a few large chunks of wood.

Did look like he was having a blast. I think he cut the spoiler off just for the fun of it.

We had this bridge on our route that had a really big bump. The regular driver would go slow over it, but whenever we had a sub, they had no idea and would fly over it. Liftoff! People in the back could easily touch the ceiling. Even at my seat just behind the wheel I would get a good 1ft off the seat.

I’ve worked at a similar level a few times in grad school when I was also working a part-time job. Aside from the mental and physical toll, I don’t really think there’s much net gain to be had from the extra hours worked. You become less productive, and if the hours become too intense, there’s usually a crash where

Hah! My thought exactly.

Who, who indeed!?
