It seems that conservatives in particular try to socially enforce stereotypical gender roles, and use these types of slurs as a serious attempt at a put down of their opponents.

YES. Sorry, I tried not to make that comment - I rewrote it twice and deleted it. It is based on my own bias + frustration with Libertarians = prejudice.
