BUT... he never felt lonely. From his absolutely phenomenal book, Carrying The Fire, which I read as a NASA-obsessed kid and still own dog-eared on a bookshelf:

For everyone ready to reply all in their feelings, I’ve been starring all the good responses, as I was not thinking clearly about the whole situation and more kinda about two people having this issue. Then the analogy about a cell phone, and a day watching trial, after a weekend with THEM and TWO DISTANT STRANGERS and

No. That’s not at all how US banking works.

Actually, money is misdeposited more than you would think. Often enough that there are laws on it.

Unfortunately there’s a lot more to banking regulations than “someone can’t take money from your account, that’s illegal.” Federal regulations DO allow your bank to take funds out of your account to offset fraud and dispute claims they receive from other financial entities. If a bank deposits too much into your

That was a whole lot of words for a much worse analogy than the one you were responding to.

Yep, this issue has happened before and it was made clear that you can’t keep it.

I find this a difficult hill to order somebody to die upon. The statement at the end rings true. If I gave a cashier (or vending machine) more than exact change for a purchase, I would want change back, whether it’s one cent or $400. It doesn’t go to the entity that received the overage amount.

You’re seeing this more and more as less regulated countries’ fleets age into their 3rd and 4th decades. New jets are *expensive* and they basically run the old ones into the ground.

I remember the sub descent and being super excited because 20,000 Leagues was one of my favorite books as a kid. I was 7ish in the late 80s when we went, I can’t remember the audio

This was the one ride that I still remember riding, wayyyy back when I was a young’in.  I think I was around 7-8, we took the trip just a year or two before that ride closed.  I recall being a bit terrified, at the same time it was magical, being underwater.

There isn’t *a* terminal velocity of 176ft/sec.

Short hop jetliner flights are brutal on an airframe. The plane was 24 years old? Being utilized the way it was, was probably the equivalent of 50 years years of wear that a normal-service jetliner would experience.

Eh, by being bought by anyone, it ultimately doomed Rare. The top devs cashed out with the acquisition and the rest followed.

Microsoft destroyed Rare, who were one of the biggest and best developers from the 90's. Basically relegated them to casual kinect games.

IIRC, they’re mostly left to their own devices, within reason, of course.

To nitpick, Trump could pardon him right now for any Federal offenses committed during this, and the guy could never be charged.

Using both names in meta, as a description of events that have taken place (ie the entire concept of a transition), isn’t deadnaming. That is ludicrous bullshit. Not even universally held in lgbt Reddit/Twitter or anywhere I know of.

Typically that means the person is comfortable with both masculine and singular plural pronouns. People comfortable with multiple kinds of pronouns tend to abbreviate that into one from each acceptable category for the sake of brevity.
