Best free app for Android is Star Walk 2. It has the same features described in the other app and works great. Touch any object on the screen and you get a full description. There are overlays that identify constellations and if they are too busy, go to settings and you can adjust the overlays to be less intrusive.…

I use Sky Map, and it works pretty good. I also use Celestron’s SkyPortal, which will run stand-alone (i.e., without a telescope); which is more of a finder app compared to Sky Map.
