Which batteries are those? I would genuinely love to know. I've never had rechargeable batteries, or battery packs for controllers last longer then afew years.

I've never spent more than 50 on a ds4.

If being too far from an outlet is an issue, why not just get a portable charging pack from Anker or something similar? It’ll charge while you play and will likely outlast your gaming session if you’re only concerned about an hour or two being lost.

Yeah I don’t know about the $20 for a battery situation. I got 2x and a charging station and they were black to match my controller for $14. When one runs out I pop the other one in. I’ve only ever seen a couch have power when its against a wall, otherwise the cables get untidy. 

You commonly play while tethered to the system? Have you never bought a 2nd controller? Plug one in to charge while you use the other. When it dies, swap them out.
