My grandmother told me how she and my grandfather had met, and I swear, it would totally fit in with those stories. My grandfather had served in the Navy in WW2 with my grandmother’s brother (my great-uncle), and they were both from the same state. So when the war was basically over, my grandfather got leave to go

I can’t quite remember how it is, but the best comment I saw was that “the customer is always right” means (IIRC) “...about what they want”. They may not be able to GET what they want, and they may not be right that what they want is correct for the job they want it for, but, hey.

Now playing

Maybe he’s secretly a legendary swordmaker?

The live, real-time analysis has REALLY improved over the last 5(?) years in terms of not just identifying outs, odds, etc (something that the advent of the hole cam ushered in) but in strategy from pros about how to read the board, the players, etc. When it was just Norman Chad wisecracking, it was one thing.

Yup, that was Drew Carey. I remember that bit.

Shit, my team (not the Red Sox (yes, yes, I know, “Cardinals ugh”, whatever)) was IN the 2013 World Series, and I don’t think I could reliably name 5 players I’m sure were on the team in general, that year, let alone starting lineup... right now, I can only think of 3 Cardinals, and David Ortiz.

I wound up watching a bunch of these the other month when I had to start my days with a 20 minute foot soak (stupid ingrown toenail), cuz it was perfect length.

Actually, to me it looks like the bit in front of the doors is actually *thicker*, rather than mis-aligned.

Obligatory:

We have similar signs on a 10'9" railroad bridge here in Syracuse, still didn’t stop yet another genius in a semi from running into it late last week. The kicker was, the driver lives here, so it’s not like he shouldn’t have heard of it before...

It seems that they’ve been bringing over the HiDive stuff to Crunchyroll (although occasionally it takes a week or a few to get started, but once it does it’s up to date) anyway, so you may not even need VRV.

I swear the Lord El-Molloi II summary (not just Bashcraft’s, even the fuller versions elsewhere) sounds like a Scooby Doo plot.

HiDive is Sentai, who’s now in partnership with Crunchyroll, so based on the last couple seasons, odds are good that anything marked HiDive will come to CR as well (although it may take a couple weeks, for reasons not clear). I haven’t personally, but some people recommend the VRV membership, which would give you CR +

Serious question - why?

God, yes! I probably watched Help! more as a youngster, certainly once I got my own copy in high school in the ‘90s, than I watched Willy Wonka. It took me way too many years to realize “hey, Veruca’s dad is the assistant from Help!”.

Yeah, as much as it’s “good riddance to bad rubbish” for St. Louis to be rid of one ES Kroenke, I bet they still *wish* they had had a lawyer on their end who was half as genius as this unnamed hero in St. Pete...

Man, Richard Sherman was taken in the 5th round of that draft.

Yeah, I totally get that, and don’t even disagree. Like I said, for me a big part is admittedly its “First!” role, plus just a fantastic soundtrack.

I could in fact do that, but said player was on a team known for 28-3...

Well, if they’re actually paying for two parking tickets... I feel a little less annoyed? Also, not sure who was first, but the black car in the top picture is also on/over the line there too.
