I mean, natural disaster here, and I dunno about the earlier fire, but the insurance company’s gotta be giving them some serious side-eye in the future, no? :D

Hmm. He’s done fire, tornado...

I grew up in St. Louis, with the knowledge that if the New Madrid fault ever *really* let go again like it did in 1811(?), there’d be a lot more stuff that got screwed over by a roughly level 8 magnitude quake.

Now see, my first car that I bought was in MO, and my first license plate ended with “TNT”, and I thought it was great that I could say my car was dynamite (especially when it’s a Corolla) ;p

I’m pretty sure you can still get a cheeseburger Happy Meal? They just price it extra or something.

This sounds right to me in 2018; how hard would it be to create toys (like the Minion above) that don’t feel gender-specific at all?

It feels like it’s gotten worse recently, although it seemed to me to be like 50/50 on “boy/girl” vs the more specific “hot wheels/barbie” type questions. I worked at a McDonald’s in the mid to late 90s, and the dual-gendered toy options were fewer and far between. (I also worked through the first 3 Teeny Beanie Baby

My mom got it for him on our vacation there this past summer, and my wife put it together for him. My son, being six, has since taken it apart, and put it in one of

Yeah, I mean, I was born in ‘80, so the fact that Challenger is like the first major news story I can recall at least makes sense in my case. (I was in half day kindergarten, and I suspect we saw it on the news at the baby sitter’s. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t one of those who saw it at school in some big event because

Reminds me of this comment from John Cleese:

Shoulda been the next Dead Letters.

My only good CiCi’s experience was the first time I ate there, when my friend who was with me on a road trip in college suggested it and paid for both of us after we missed the concert we were supposed to go to due to blowing a tire in the middle of nowhere.

Also: “Lil”?

As an aside, does that mean that voting “Present” is equivalent to voting “Abstain”?

How homesick are you for grey skies and tons of snow, really? :P (Seriously, though, we got a foot of snow overnight the other week)

+1 Harry Chapin song

Yep. It’s a winter staple at our house. Especially in the “eh, we don’t feel like really cooking, and we shouldn’t spend the money on out/ordering pizza” vein.
