I think Iron Man is kind of a "missing link" between the Avengers type goofy fun movies and the dark superheros of the early 2000's. Dark Knight was the most successful, but before that you had the Toby McGuire Spiderman, Batman Begins, X Men heck I'd even include Daredevil and Catwoman as kind of failed parts of that

Nah, that was pure 90's campy style comic-book movie. X-Men was the first of the cool guys with futuristic gadgets being really badass all the time movies. Blade had fun with it. I would even say we've entered another phase in comic book movies post-Avengers.

You would expect he would be given that it was his sole qualification.

Eh *smokes cigarette, exhales* such is life, mon ami.

Well, I for one am ecstatic. Mel Gibson is a terrible human being. But damn can he direct some action. Completely ridiculous, contrived, bloody action. The best kind.

For the first couple articles I read about the Iggy Azalia Banks feud I thought they were the same people and couldn't figure out who they were fighting with. Or why a white female rapper felt the need to attack someone else for cultural appropriation.

I still love Forest Gump. Great soundtrack, great/weird story. And he's just so charmingly mentally challenged.

That ending felt unearned.

Man, Ted Cruz is desperately seeking attention nowadays. Donald Trump stole his constituents.

Oh my God.. no!

I like Leonardo DiCaprio.

Uh, Lucha Underground is the coolest shit EVER! I randomly found it on a Saturday afternoon and was blown away at how much better the wrestlers were at a technical level.

Eh that was a bit of a trekk

Of course no one ever talks about the other problem, that a race of aliens with space ships needed to use crop circles to coordinate, instead of, you know, GPS or something.

Yeah, but the Aliens came back repeatedly over like a fifty year period. Pretty sure if we discovered the alien world we were on had cyanide coating every surface we'd figure out our mistake right quick.

Look, all I was saying is I like marines who actually beat xenomorphs, we should honor those people.

Yeah, Alien creationism sucks as a premise. My objection to it is similar to my objection Lucy. Humans use more than 10% of their brains you jerkwads!

I give the water thing a pass because the set-up was pretty good. Besides, it's never known that it's just water. Maybe it's bacteria in the water or something.

Shyamalan was arguably 3/3 at the start of his career. 6th Sense, Unbreakable and Signs (a B movie, but it's no C that's for sure).

Like all of Neill Blomkamp's work, it will feature great effects and a cool look that ultimately get completely overshadowed by the heavy-handed premise and poor execution.
