The article left out that my wife is handicapped so no manual. She knows how to drive stick, but physically can’t.

I like the Prowler. Hell with a turbo or S/C pushing the power to 300 or so would be glorious. Even stock power levels are fine if you treat it as a boulevard cruiser and not a race car. Low and Slow are fine by me...

I just started a new job after being laid off for 4 months. It’s close enough to home that I can ride this motorcycle to work. So what I’m listening to is the drone of a Japanese built, low displacement, V-Twin, with straight pipes absolutely revving to the moon to maintain highway speeds.

Can I nominate the location for the 1/4 window switches in the 1991-1994 Nissan 240SX Convertible? The Vert is the only 240SX with 4 windows, the main side windows and then the 1/4 windows. In usual ASC ClusterF*** fashion, instead of making new door card inserts to fit the extra switches, they just slapped them in

My most prized automotive/motorcycle piece of clothing has got to be my Buell Cap.

Everyone is in here screaming over the value of each test standard and how it relates to street use, and I’m just here ignoring Snell ratings because they refuse to approve anything with an integrated, drop-down, sun shield.

I’m going to go with the SECOND Del Sol my one classmate had in high school. Why the second? Well you’d need to know about the first.

The folks who called it a Buell were aiming to piss you off. If they knew who Buell was they would know a Triumph.

Wait…..The Brits made an amazing machine but it’s riddled with questionable and annoying engineering decisions?

Gotta love the fanboys and hype surrounding the 240SX. Exactly the car every 16yo should be trying to get thier hands on.

They only came in Red, White, or Black. HAARTZ Black Canvas was the only top option and all were automatic except for a rumored 5 or so built specially for a dealer in Florida. They made just over 8,000 (4% of all 240SXs) over the course of 4 years production.

Honestly? Probably 20-30 seconds to put it up manually. It’s got two widely spaced latches so you have to walk to both sides but either way it’s a few seconds. The advantage is when I’ve got the kids in the car I can pull over and out the top up without them screaming to get out of the car since I did.

The 240SX has a power soft top because it’s a 4 seat car and it’s not possible to reach, easily, into the back to lift the top. That said I can and have used it in manual mode (pump bypass) multiple times so it’s not impossible.

If you’re going to own a project car, ESPECIALLY one that is known to be temperamental, you need to make sure you have spare transportation. I love my 240SX but it has an uptime of <50%. I learned the hard way that I need a commuter vehicle too, one finicky project car does NOT successful employment make.

The one way to get cred with an M45 is to use the engine in a 240SX…..otherwise you’re kinda SOL.

The first movie it the reason I’m into cars and not driving around in some Bro-Dozer I had a shop build ala my neighbors with thier

My 1995 Buell ran HD controls and the turn signals automatically cancel.

Going from a Buell (Harley hear, push button on each side) to the left/right thumb switch on my Suzuki was a nightmare. Also HD has an auto cancel on the blinker but it’s time related so it wasn’t uncommon to indicate a turn when pulling up to an intersection and suddenly have my signal turn off 2 seconds before the

I know people love to complain about the 70s and current designs, but please look at the popular cars from 1930-1939. If you want to be depressed about design language and choices, here you go.

My wife’s first car on the mainland after leaving Puerto Rico. It was a 1997 Subaru Outback Sport (the little Impreza based one). It was purchased new by the Aunt of my best friend. The car was driven for about 75,000 miles before it was handed to my best friend as a “cooler” replacement for his Dodge Colt. He drove
