Actually, downforce works by removing as much air below the car as possible. You want a lot of air on top to make pressure and none underneath. Look at the Brabham BT46B Fan Car, the Chapparal fan cars, and some of the 1970s era Lotus F1 cars.

That would be Lotus. Except forget the fuel economy. And the low maintenance costs. And ability to work on it yourself. And, where was I going with this? I need coffee...

Finance guy at my last job had one of these with the automatic (DCT?). It was a fun car to drive but I would NEVER own one. He bought it for looks so every now and then he would let me drive him to lunch so I could push the car and show him what it was capable of. BUT.....

To which I have to explain, my wife is handicapped and although she can drive stick she doesnt enjoy it so the car stays automatic...

If you look hard you can find S2s that have been abandoned and are now sitting in garages. My father and I troll Facebook Marketplace to find them.
