It was a Focus SFE with the manual and 1.0L econoboost.

Mainly because a certain member of my family who will not be named prefers the built in GPS in the car as opposed to their phone. The car I currently drive lacks ABS, and a functional radio so GPS was never an option and I can’t wire an aftermarket one in right now anyway.

I called Ford over the issue. I wanted a Fiesta 1.0l economist but I wanted NAV. I was told it wasn’t offered because “Marketing determined people wouldn’t buy the fuel economy engine and Nav together.” My call ended with me saying, and I quote, “I see the box you are trying to put me in and I REFUSE to sit in it!

Allocation of options based on “Packages” really is an insanely stupid system. I understand that some things are bundled together due to the BCM(Body Control Module) design but for the life of me I cannot figure out why an engine choice would preclude navigation in a car. I’m looking directly at you Ford.

Your car is in VERY nice shape. I’m actually glad that they kind of upgraded the latch style in the 240SX. its a little curved metal hook. Oh and the top is hydraulic so no manual work. Sadly we don’t get that sweet tonneau....

BINGO. This is from the era when ASC did the work before the General took it all in-house. As an ASC modified car owner, the line about “the top needs two parts replaced” and then never specifies gives me the creeps.

This is an ASC-Built convertible, with a bad rear window and at least one other item related to the top needing replacement. ASC is functionally out of business at this point, and they are less than helpful if you need information on past products. Getting any info from them on the S13 240SX Convertible from this era

If I had a hatch, Id seriously consider it. I mean, small, RWD, manual, pickup? Whats not to like?

And every S13 240SX owner just let out an expansive yawn and moved on...

I stand corrected. Maybe just poor memory on my end then. He ditched it years ago when the Impreza became a CUV.

What year is yours? The one my godfather had was first or second year and you had to work to find something soft. Maybe the door card inserts were soft but the sill where you put your elbow and the dash were rocks.

Mostly the wrong car for the area. He lived in the D.C. area. Can’t really “let off the gas some” in stop and go traffic. Not much cruising on the highway since traffic is either bumper-to-bumper OR 85+mph where the car has all the aerodynamics of a brick.

He lived and worked just outside of D.C. so there was very little area to cruise. The only cruising he got was driving to my parents house in PA and at the 80mph traffic flows at, the brick-like aerodynamics came into play and kept it on 8cyl.

Please please don’t wax nostalgic on the Magnum. My godfather traded a Volvo 240DL Wagon in on a 1st year Magnum R/T in battleship grey. He grew to despise the car. His reasons included:

As a Mach 1 owner, this name choice and the scrip above drive me insane. But hey, Mitsubishi is selling the Eclipse-Cross and looking at another SUV called the Evo, so anything is possible. Just waiting for the reveal next year of the Dodge Super Bee hybrid CUV and the Chevy Chevelle SS turbo-4 power performance

Holy Hell! As a 240SX Vert Owner, I’m glad that you survived and glad to see the reinforcing ASC did on the frames actually did something. I’m always a little terrified on driving mine with all the SUVs not paying attention on the roads here in PA and MD....

Car saved my life? How about the “Built Ford Tough” Ford Escape that saved my my life twice in one day. Little background, my friend had a Integra powered turbo Del Sol project car that he was trading for a CRX Si. Only problem was the Del Sol was finicky and he didn’t trust it for a drive to southern Ohio from PA.

Voting CP. If this is an ASC built convertible (probably so due to its vintage), my advice as the owner of an ASC product (1993 Nissan 240SX Vert) is...

It works like that? I didn’t realize. Awesome! I just fixed my faulty cruise control by jiggling the vacuum line, unplugging and re-plugging the harness connector, and flicking the control relay a few times.....

Yep, there is a knob like the trip reset. Turn it one way, MPH, turn it the other way Km/h, push it in and it turns the HID off. Bumped it once playing around and didn’t notice the HUD was off until the next time I drove the car. Was PISSED that the HUD I spent a weekend installing had died so soon. Took me 3 days to
