This is just one reason why I’m keeping these two cars:

You are a horrible horrible person.

My 240SX. Will it get me home tonight or strand me on the side of the road? How badly could the previous owner have screwed up this car? What new electrical gremlin will appear?

Beautiful car! Parts are no longer cheap, you’re right there.

Already own a V8. Not interested in two.

I’ve had bigger fish to fry with fixing this car than transmission choice. Plus the wife wants it to stay auto. She can drive stick but is handicapped so it’s a major pain in the ass for her.

End goal I want to do an RB25DET. For right now I’m just looking into refreshing a KA. My big issue is my wife has demanded it stay automatic. She can drive stick but doesn’t like to. Happy wife, happy life.

I’m thinking less of hitting curb and more of hitting wall. Here are photos (in order) of the damage I found on the rad support, the poor repair on the passenger frame rail, the car with all broken metal removed, and the car after the new frame was attached, internally braced, welded in, and cleaned up

1993 Nissan 240SX actually. More of a cruiser with some punch than an out and out race car.

Resurrecting a tuner car and making a CLEAN, focused build. That’s my goal for this work in progress. So far I’ve tackled frame damage, a failed engine harness, and the interior. Still have to get a working radio, clean up under hood, and deal with some suspension gremlins.

I’m over in the York/Harrisburg area. Maybe she’s a traveling sales person? Probably sells adult toys from the back....

Are you in Central PA? I swear I commute with this woman.

This question and the litany of “I wish I wouldn’t have sold X car...” is why I’m doing my absolute best to keep my Mach 1 and 240SX convertible. I want to hand them down to my children one day. Most importantly I have my wife’s support on this decision as well.

I’ll do my best not to pull car part pranks on my daughter. If I do, I sure as hell won’t film it.

It would be a nice cruiser but if they didn’t do anything to the rear end of the car it will just flounder at the drag strip.

The more I read about nuclear war tactics, the more it seems that the counterintuitive outcome is the actual functional one.

Probably depends on local regulations and the size of the airport. The place I was based is so small it’s an uncontrolled field. When I was at ERAU we were equipped with strainer cups so if the fuel was clear, it went back in the tank.

As a certified private pilot I can confirm this. The amount of tetraethyl lead in the 100LL is insanely high compared to traditional automotive fuels.

Now gee. Where have I seen that exact stripe package before.... hmmmm.....

Wait. The A/C system is on to cool the intake air. The tracks I ran at, if your A/C was on and you were dripping water your ass got told to leave. So this cool system will get you kicked out at your local drag strip anyway!
