This is the automotive equivalent of Pugachev’s Cobra huh?

You go Edd! All power to you.
I’ll second that feeling. The Mach 1 came with “Mach 1 specific” Goodyear Eagle ZR45s. Yeah, they were too hard for driving on the street and turned to mush the moment you warmed them for drag racing. The moment they wore out (which was AMAZINGLY FAST) they were tossed for some Dunlops.
Took it to HPDE and learned to drive.
Arias Pistons and Eagle Forged H-Beam Rods. The motor was built to be as stout as possible.
Big thanks to the guys at Arias for a great deal on the parts. They gave me a discount since I was in college at the time and would be building the motor at school. (Not even part of my curriculum, I’m a Manufacturing Engineer.)
Windsor Twp in York actually. Also work in HBG. If there is a way to PM hit me up
Stayed with the automatic. So no flywheel. It was a 15 second car with all that work but it was a rock solid consistent 15 second car lol.
Sadly I wasn’t a delivery guy. I was the cook in the back. Our restaurant wasn’t allowed to do delivery because we were on a major highway but NOT at an intersection. Corporate determined it was too dangerous.
As someone who spent their formative years at the drag strip, I’m not sure if I should see that thunderbird an attempt to dress up a turd or the war paint of a drag strip terror.
I’ve got a 5 vehicle collection in a 2 car garage plus one half of the driveway. The garage has the Wife’s DD, both bikes, and my project car. Only my DD gets the outside treatment. So storage space isn’t really an issue. I also have a work bench and lawn tools in the garage. If I need extra space for a project I just…
Was gonna come here and make a snarky comment but I’m actually fairly close to this if we count my wife’s vehicles.
What I’d be interested in is a video showing how the heat stays in the tire after the burnout is over. I know in drag racing you burnout to both warm your tires as well as scrub the crap off of them. Just wondering which of those two is really happening. I.E. Does the heat stay in the tire long enough to make a…
Just a note, the car isn’t primer. That was a factory metallic color called Liquid Gray aka Dark Shadow Gray.
Not quite understanding all the hate that is going for teen drivers. If you raise them to respect thier car they won’t wreck it. Example: Me. I was given a brand new Focus ZX5 as my first car when I was 15. I was allowed to mod the car as I saw fit with my work money. By the time I was 16 I had a car that was uniquely…
Just spoke with my father. Apparently the car in question was a green Plymouth Duster with a black vinyl top. Started life with a 318 but by the time my dad knew it, a 340 had been dumped in front of the firewall. He was adamant about the Hurst 4-speed in it though.
