I think you made your point just fine. I’m carrying no water for Buttigieg, but I think most of the anecdotes made him seem more endearing than annoying. Nothing wrong with what you wrote, though. It didn’t read like an attack.

I agree. Being a citizen means you have the right to vote. Being a convicted criminal means that you should have your freedom taken away for a set period, but within that framework, the more we can do to keep prisoners engaged in society, the better for their (and and for society’s) outcomes.
