I could be wrong, but I thought the 25th amendment process was different from the impeachment process (though they both still ultimately rely on Congress).

I’ve heard the argument that the person who wrote this should either resign or invoke the 25th amendment, but shouldn’t be skulking in the background disobeying the elected president, because that’s undemocratic.

I read some very well informed people speculating on that very subject just yesterday. I’m not saying it’s true, but I haven’t seen any proof that it isn’t.
