I know general audiences aren’t familiar with comic-book style storytelling, but that is why it’s so important for reviewers to be familiar.

“Now the library’s more than just a quiet place to shoot someone!”

- News ticker covers Titania’s rampage.
- It’s frightening how you can’t tell if they took real comments about She-Hulk to make that montage. (The montage is also super reminiscent of the ones from Ms. Marvel.)
- How has that slimeball not been the target of an HR investigation, working for the government?
- That was a

Anyone who calls this quite quitting and not “doing your job” is delusional.

Hard work is not rewarded, so don’t work harder than necessary.

Also not “quiet quitting” - but acknowledging I no longer want to be on call or an assistant doing what the person I’m assisting is supposed to be doing has been freeing in the extreme.

“Quiet Quitting” is a term created by employers trying to stigmatize doing the work that you’re being paid to perform and not going above and beyond your assigned duties without compensation.

Seriously, it’s fucking sad that this is considered any form of “quitting.” That’s just accepting of the abuse workplaces give out to workers as normal and fine.  It is not.

Everyone is replaceable and if you’re living to work you cannot work to live - I think when more people realize those points, realize that doing more (and doing more with less) only begets having more piled on your plate, and realizes that the folks up at the top really, truly, don’t give a shit about you, it’s easier

It’s not quiet quitting, it’s finally realizing your job is 9 to 5. Your lunch break is an hour. Long before the pandemic I used to work 12 hour days and come in on weekends (thankfully I got overtime for doing so) but the stress from it was making me miserable. When the company was bought out and I was downsized, I

i’m a big fan of the comics and loving the first 4 episodes so far. i’m also curious what a non comic fan thinks. i’m just really happy to see the comic brought to life. i have a copy of volume one in my hand as i watch lol.

To answer what’s the point, there are a ton of people who’ve never read the comic now exposed to this work and are seeking it out. I read the comics when they first dropped and am a long time fan and disagree with the take. You’re entitled to your criticisms but I don’t see them, I thought it was a great adaptation

He’s written pretty extensively about endless (no pun intended) meetings with studios and reading dozens of terrible scripts in his decades long effort to get this adapted to a live action format so I’m both not surprised that he’d only agree to do it if he were in charge and also pretty excited that he seems happy

Mark Maron interviewed Gaiman recently...I think it just was released this week, and it’s a great listen.   Gaiman explains how the show came about and how he only agreed to it if he could be the show runner.   It’s not that he had a huge desire to be the show runner, but it was the only way he could insure that the

Ok, but I really am curious how someone who hasn’t read the comic would react to this, since presumably that’s going to be the majority of viewers.

One of my favorite small moments was when Deever returns to the mosque. The cookies thing was wonderful “I don’t think they like cookies.” “They will like MY cookies!”

The man clearly takes pride in his cookies, made me really want to try his cookies!

Those fucking hats, tho. Why did he even have them? Now I desperately want a spin off with Kamran and Bruno as Halal and Haram, ala Heroes for Hire.

In the end credits teaser, I love that the Nega-Bands effect elicited a “yipe!” from Kamala and Carol crashing through a closet door. That’s on brand for both of them.

I liked this episode for the most part, but the most sci-fi beat by far was the idea that NYPD would back up a Muslim community against government aggression.

- What a delight this show has been! Hands down the best finale of all Disney+ Marvel shows. Well deserved A grade.
