Why hate the awards? As a non-white person, I really don't think anyone should be hoping for quotas to be filled when it comes to awards.

The point is the split. If a film is nominated for best picture, it should follow that the director should also be nominated.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Oscar caliber" as these awards aren't about anything but marketing, but it was not more than a popcorn film.

It definitely makes me give Aniston the side eye - she's letting people think she went through the tragedy of his death. It's pretty disingenuous on her part.

A bit off topic, but I've always wondered: if someone from your past whom you were close to but then lost contact with or had a bit of a falling out with were to come down with a terminal illness, would you want to know? Would it matter to you if that person suddenly reached out to you and let you know?

His wife probably wants to continue to grieve or remember her husband and the father of her children in private, without the press bugging her about it or writing articles about the love between her husband and his ex.

And turning their town into a national laughingstock and a shorthand for rape apologism? Did none of these ostensibly sane adults consider "letting justice take its course" a viable option?
