Bilateral cleft lip and palate. My teeth weren't really in the habit of behaving like teeth, so they had to be taught a long, arduous lesson.

I had craniofacial surgery too! : ) The face and mouth are very difficult to operate on. Or so they tell me. I never stayed awake to find out.

I dunno, I think we might be fairly evenly matched. I had a bilateral cleft lip and palate and like 13+ surgeries to fix my palate, nasal passages, teeth, etc., a couple of which sound like what you described, as far as the teeth go. My top teeth were almost parallel to the roof of my mouth when I was younger.

At least a year, you say? I wore braces for 12 years. It's weird when you get them off after so long. There are many days of chewed up cheeks afterwards, but luckily our bodies adapt and we learn to chew without braces again after not too long, which is great.

My survival fight or flight mode just kicked in, and I was struck both with overwhelming repulsion and an intense urge to kill it in every way possible.

Screw the tire swing, that thing was a hazard to my health and the health of everyone around me. I'll take über-tires over tire swings any day of the week.

This is Ahmed and Muhammad. Twins, conjoined at the head. A few years ago, when I was in the hospital after a craniofacial surgery, I ended up next door to them, and their parents. It was a wondrous thing. As I slowly took walks past their room, I felt less and less sorry for myself, and more in awe of their tenacity.

Agreed. The past few days, I've done nothing with the phone but sporadically text, and check Facebook every half hour or so. I see a drop of about 30% by lunch, even with that minimal usage. I feel like it has improved somewhat since I've drained it a couple of times, but I still can't go out at night (~9pm) without

Wait, is this not how you show your dissatisfaction with a vendor?...

I think it's chalked up a lot to location services, as well as software bugs. My phone died at 11 last night after a very light day of use after unplugging about 7am. I've turned off some of the location-based stuff, and I don't use geofences. It helps a little, but I would love to depend on it for a little longer.

Which makes me think... With these advents of modern science- replaceable skin, possible muscle, and nanobots propelled to pinpoint locations in our bodies, not to mention the article that Giz just posted about recreating the functions of the brain by 2019, by the time we reach middle age, will death be an option?

Yeah, I'm sure that 4G is epic. But I live on campus where wifi is as plentiful as short shorts, so I think I used like 15MB of cellular data last month over 3G. If I leave campus, the 3G is actually really speedy most of the time anyway. If I were some place more congested, I bet 4G would make a big difference.

Was that last one classic? Something tells me that the last one was classic.

Maybe, in terms of raw power, but I have to say, I'm very happy with my 4s. It's incredibly speedy, has a great camera- the same, essentially, as the Razr, and a smooth OS. Besides the larger screen and a couple of physical features, I really wouldn't trade.

So this was the Big Brother of still cameras? I bet paying for film was... Orwellian.

There were so many chances there, you don't even know. She called her iPod an iTouch, which irks me beyond all reason, but makes for a fantastic innuendo.

She asked me to "teach her all about it" so that she won't be so "annoying" anymore when I watch her use a computer.

I was at a coffee shop with a girl last night. She had her PC open in front of her. She said that there was something wrong with the battery, and that the computer would not turn on unless it was plugged in. So, she plugged it in, booted it up, and got the Windows recovery black screen. I said something to the effect

Back when my only camera was a Kodak throw-away.

I'll take your kidney, but I hope you weren't expecting payment.
