All she’s really saying is she was in but who ever takes over may switch things up. That’s a pretty balanced approach to take, I suspect she’ll be back without any problems. Everything is so fresh I suspect a lot of people are not sure what’s up.

The story of how the Federation found its moral center is supposed to be rooted in the post-war 21st century and the era immediately following First Contact... a moral center that we found with a great deal of help from the Vulcans.

Resurrection was very early stages stuff, and he could be forgiven (it was directed by Jean Pierre Jeunet who’s also better than that). Ultron was recent, and Joss as a very powerful person in the Marvel universe. That’s all his fault.

Why do people keep using Age of Ultron as their go-to “he’s not THAT great!” example?

Eat dick, Snyder was not the issue with the previous movies. He is a good director if he has a good script to work with - BvS’ issues were mostly script-related. Stop trying to make him into some asshole who is single-handedly destroying DC movies. And Whedon is not perfect either - refer to Age of Ultron and pray

The LCD screen I’m using right now and have owned for about 5 years now hovers around 2ms of latency. The color range it’s capable of displaying is nice and uniform with only a slight dip near the dark end of the blue spectrum. I’ve never seen a CRT able to produce anywhere near as smooth of a color space. Grew up

Your CRT did NOT have a better contrast ratio than OLED. OLED has an infinite contrast ratio. Refreash rate it did have over OLED, but modern LCD monitors have surpassed CRT in refreash rates. Check out some of the gaming monitors for sale, granted thay are crazy expensive.

... do you not grok the meaning of the word ‘after’? That Washington Post article, including the part you quoted, makes it explicitly clear that powdered alcohol is now approved, when before it was mistakenly approved. Hence the headline. And the rest of the article.

(TIL that powdered alcohol existed) I mean we’re way down the rabbit hole now, but there does not appear to be a federal ban on powdered alcohol. It is banned in most states, though.

What are these complicated, rational reasons? You said we should call it a tobacco product because it derives its active ingredient from tobacco. Following that reasoning leads companies to move to synthesize nicotine independent of the plant, for basically no reason. I think synthetic nicotine probably has its own

So if they chemically synthesized the nicotine without a tobacco plant involved, you’d change your tune?

First it was cold brew coffee....a month later, I was smoking meth 5 times a day.

This. Outside of some very specific circumstances (Studies have shown that really hot, dry hits can produce a reaction that creates some carcinogenic chemicals), they shouldn’t be carcinogenic (to the best of my knowledge).

I mean, nicotine isn’t a carcinogen so assumptively, it wouldn’t be carcinogenic. I’d imagine the dangers of it come from whatever else is in the fluid and BP increase based on the mild stimulant effects of nicotine.

Considering they already make vape liquid without nicotine in it...

No! You're reading fine! Her essay was not shocking or out of line!!

That's not an accurate or fair depiction of her piece.

I’m not even sure what is the particular objection to her original essay. Is this a failing on the part of this Jez article or does this speak more to the “incoherent” nature of the students’ protest? I read the article, and I didn’t find it especially shocking or even pro-rape (a ludicrous position to take). Am I
