The theatre: where fans are deliberately placed to where they can potentially interfere with the play.... then get kicked out of the theatre for interfering with the play, as if the possibility of it happening never even occurred to anyone before.

I’m not calling anything out, merely explaining both sides of this issue.

You see a lot of professional cosplayers in Hollywood too. Just last week I saw Jack Sparrow, Wolverine, Zack Galifisnakis, and Batman working the crowd in front of Mann’s Chinese Theater, but then a depressed Minnie Mouse showed up and things got awkward.
