If you’re a halfway serious skiier you cannot rent skis that are worth your time. You might be able to “demo” skis at the ski shop that are not generic jerry sticks but it depends entirely on what they’ve got around, shop hours, and where you are. Can be $100 a day for nice ones.

Of course they use GPS for navigation. It’s the reason modern intercontinental air travel works. Planes fly great circle routes between distant points and GPS is what makes those routes accurate/possible without ground based fixes. There are no VOR beacons in the middle of the greenland ice sheet. Point to point

They are not messing with IRS. IRS has not-insubstantial drift rate and it is corrected by GPS. Without GPS updates, position will become less accurate. Moreso, if GPS data appears to be working but is being spoofed/modified then weird things will happen.

Boeing has never had a market miscalculation like either one.

If you walk around any given part of LA and look at the tires on cars, about 30% of them at least are running on DIY slicks. Chaos ensues

For the 3% of TRD owners that actually will run a desert trail at 60>mph in one of these, it is a great feature. For the other 97% it’s just shiny stuff.

It’s real. I had third gear go out on one of these in the middle of an intersection and it was like I’d run into a concrete wall. Exceedingly violent.

The issue with this and the thing that Putin knows, is that 1 warhead is an unbelievable disaster, let alone 5 warheads is enough to bring this nation to it’s knees and majorly screw up life in this country for a generation. It’s all inconceivable, it’s just degrees of inconceivability. Millions die any way you slice

As someone that does both this is the most hilarious Bend, OR type take. If you think that truck guys try to replace their personality with a pickup truck, you haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen spandex clad software engineers talk about their fucking power meters lol.

I can save you $4500:

Porsche and specifically the hot 911's insane 0-60 times (especially for RWD) come down to a few things:

Outside of actual exotic brands, all high-power engines used in sports cars are derivatives - going back to the Viper, the last gen GT, and the GT40 itself. Only Ferrari, Porsche, etc can justify clean-sheet sportscar specific engine designs because their customers are willing to pay a huge premium for them - in

Meh, Ferrari sold road cars to fund racing. Lamborghini sells SUVs to fund selling cars - and a tiny bit of racing. Porsche makes mountains of money on the Macan and Cayenne and the 911 is better for it.

Snoozer, fat, bloated, and anonymous - but luxurious and expensive is exactly what these buyers want. They’re fancy busses with nice interiors, great AC, and three rows for families to cart their four kids around in. Rich mom minivans. It’s a GMC Yukon for people that like to say “Jeep.”

More often than not the only way organizations like Detroit’s government or other slow-moving/neglectful entities do anything about anything is getting sued. If he doesn’t want the money he can donate it to charity but civil damages do more than just get someone paid, they punish bad behavior by companies/government.

Well there’s that dive he was talking about in the flight log. Likely was in an overspeed condition briefly there - Caravan’s are reliable by slow hogs. Good thing he didn’t yank on that yoke too hard like he said:

Coming from Portland that currently looks like a poorly maintained refugee camp, a run through downtown Chicago over the bridges, through Millenium park, and up and down the lakefront, and back up along the riverwalk on a sunny Fall day was brain melting. It really is gorgeous - and spotless. If it wasn’t for the lack

I mean the safety car is the equivalent of a Gulfstream pacing an F-15, they’re both planes and fast ones by normal standards, but they’re still a world apart.

Nobody buys an Aston because it’s the fastest.

High altitude, tall (heavier) guy - Africa Twin has 25 more HP to work with.
