I have to admit, the tedium has finally set in, and it was difficult to go through your comment after the first few paragraphs. Not only did you misinterpret what I said, but you somehow inferred that I was “uneducated” in an incredibly elitist way.

My basic point was that education really doesn’t matter. A piece of paper doesn’t give you any expertise on actual economics, as evidenced by the fact that there a countless Marxist and Keynesian economists with degrees. They all still believe in and promote misconceptions regardless of their education.
You’ve said previously you’re in Vet school, so I can’t really put much stock in your degree as an actual source of knowledge. And you have the nerve to call me brainwashed and say free market economists haven’t “changed their tune” when you speak like the standard Marxist theorist who thinks he has the world figured…
What a fantastic way to start off a conversation by calling me brainwashed, simply wonderful. I was a Progressive for many years before I started studying economic theory.
Capitalism is trade based on scarce resources, so of COURSE the money didn’t come out of thin air, what kind of stupidity is that? And this hoarding wealth nonsense is why you don’t recognize basic economics. And Cambodia IS going through the same thing we did in our industrial age, their wages are increasing along…
Explaining basic economics isn’t condescending, I’m sorry if you feel differently. And of course industry is fueled by resource extraction, what were they supposed to use, warm feelings? Are you saying we shouldn’t chop down a tree to build a fire, we should just leave Mother Earth alone?
Its based on Marxist theory which is the Labor theory of value. As I said, labor doesn’t have an intrinsic value. If you don’t believe me, spend ten days building a wooden bicycle and see where the demand is for your labor, you’ll be looking for a while...
I have to ask from what government did the grants come from, the government that already had an industrial age?
Which part of the government-insured bank accounts and artificially deflated interest rates is “unchecked Capitalism”? How about the centralized banking, is that the economy run amok as well? The term you’re looking for is “Crony Capitalism”, try again, sport!
Privately-funded programs=/= socialism
You mentioned that you had a degree from the University of Colorado, so you’re economic situation is obviously far removed from the average Cambodian’s
And where did you get the capital to afford to give your employees these wages? Was it from a customer base with incomes that were built up over the years, or did the money appear out of the ether?
The GFC was due to government regulation, not “Unchecked Capitalism”. When the Fed keeps interest rates artificially low, then the investors are presented with a false view of the economy, and when it insures bank accounts then the banks can do whatever they want with their customers’ money. That’s what made the…
People CAN choose where they work, they’re not being forced at gunpoint to go into these factories, factory owners actually have to keep people because they’re all clamoring to be employed. And no doubt you benefited from the economic system that was built up before you entered the market, a system that wasn’t built…
The difference between us is I believed in your position for years,I firmly believed greedy capitalists were exploiting the third world and Marxism had never actually been given a shot, and all that stuff. But in the end I had to analyze my own beliefs, I had to test them out because I actually care whether they’re…
All these regimes are what happens when Marxists are confronted by the failures of Marxist theory. There were no bourgeoisie revolutions because they happened to like earning money to support their families and increase their standard of living, so these Communists forced their systems on the people. The state took…
Yay, the No True Scotsman defense, that’s a fantastic fallacy only you could think was a good argument! The Khmer Rouge banned religion, implemented social engineering policies and agriculture policies, and killed people deliberately, that seems pretty close to every other communist regime in history.... What is it…
Here’s the incoherence of your argument, you claim your country skipped over Capitalism, then you blame Capitalism for your country’s hardships. When the irrational claim to be rational is when it gets dangerous as you’ve demonstrated. You’re against the very thing that can save your country, that IS saving your…
The fact that you consider a paycheck as exploitation and that you haven’t been able to address any of my points speaks to the vacuousness of your beliefs. You believe what you want to believe, and that’s that.
Yes the Bourgeoisie uprising that’s NEVER going to happen, thanks for demonstrating the failure of Marxism. Hey Capitalists, thanks for all the innovation and capital, but we’re just going to steal it all because we want everyone to be equally poor!
