Because they’re unskilled before they enter into that factory, they learn on the job as you so aptly demonstrated!
Because they’re unskilled before they enter into that factory, they learn on the job as you so aptly demonstrated!
Not in a undeveloped country! Not in a country without skilled or educated labor. Labor doesn’t have an intrinsic value, there has to be a demand for it. Skills have to increase amongst laborers on the job and wages slowly rise. That’s what builds the middle class, no amount of central planning could do that. We had…
Capitalism is trade, trade is human behavior, so of course it has moral failings. I need you to think very hard about this, in a pre-industrial society, what other options do poor children have besides starving? I mean really think this through, search your brain, I’ll be very happy if you give me an answer
Yes, that’s the ticket right there, proof you’re an idiot. I voted for Obama twice, my whole family is Democrat, and I am a libertarian, not a conservative. Marxism is explicitly AGAINST Capitalism, if you don’t know this, then what the hell have you been reading?
When you say workers are exploited by being paid, then that is a belief, a belief that is factually wrong. When these people have NO skills, then their labor is UNSKILLED. That is basic economics. Labor doesn’t have an intrinsic value, its worth what people are willing to pay for it. I can spend two days building a…
When idiots call you an idiot, then its easy to get defensive, though I don’t think my tone was defensive at all. It’s just odd that you would call Capitalism exploitation when its what uplifted us from subsistence farming/starving. Trade is a natural part of life, its just that Marxists have demonized it
I actually went from Progressive liberal to Classical liberal. I still believe in social equality and liberty, I just understand basic economics
What exploitation are you talking about? And would you like to explain how the average person’s income and standard of living suddenly jumped, when it had been stagnant for thousands of years? I it wasn’t trade restrictions being lifted, what was it, smart guy?
Can’t have your silly beliefs challenged, can we?
I’ve read several books, a few of them without pictures, thank you very much! I was also a Progressive for many years until I actually picked up an economics textbook, you should try it!
Yikes! Marxism has taken root in you, hasn’t it? Try watching this-
You can only pay people what their labor is worth! Unskilled laborers get skills on the job, the more skilled they become, the higher the wage they earn, its that simple. Its what built the middle class in the United States and every other developed nation. You can’t plan an economy, if you want to see where that path…
Excuse me, but you’re the one who wants these children to starve, what other option is there for kids with families with NO income and no adequate schools because those families have NO income. The US had a similar situation in the industrial era, by the time Child Labor Laws were enacted in the 1930s, they were…
You don’t seem to understand basic economics, even with your experience. People need jobs to build up their standard of living and increase their skills. Factories pay unskilled laborers more than they would ever get elsewhere, scavenging in the trash for plastic, etc. Ever country needs to got through an industrial…
Factories aren’t what’s keeping these people poor, it’s their corrupt governments. The factories are paying them, the governments are oppressing them, let’s not forget that, please!
Yeah and only people like you deserve to be paid for your labor, right? To hell with those unskilled workers in third world countries, they’re not American!
Oh no! You mean to tell me that these evil companies are actually going into third world countries and paying poor people wages?! How could they help launch these other countries’ industrial ages and build their middle class, what sort of evil is this?!
Aid money from governments is not the same thing as investment money from private enterprise. Private enterprise benefits these third world countries greatly, they all have to go through their industrial revolutions just as we did. Even Paul Krugman understands the benefits of “sweat shops”.
I love this song... so much
Thanks!
