Clara should have exited the show during the Christmas episode where she got really old. That should have been her last episode. Everything since then has just been contrived. It was the perfect exit for her character, and they went and undid it to give her another run. Ugh.

But now, I guess that turns out to have been just a lot of malarkey, and in fact the Doctor was just playing a very long con, trying to make the Time Lords think he knew a dangerous secret about the Hybrid when in fact he just knew how to play a stratocaster.
